My laptop, with all my Neu Age and personal files on it, crashed a week ago. My laptop's hard drive is of an obscure format, and obtaining an interface to extract the files has been difficult. I did, however, update our dev server very recently, so all of the functional and semi-functional systems are backed up. If it turns out that the files on my hard drive are irrecoverable, I will have lost many demo systems and features, all art concepts and Photoshop files, all our backups from testing, and other miscellaneous stuff from August 26th onwards, which might be a lot (too much clutter for me to remember).

I have hope that the hard drive itself is mostly undamaged, so its just a matter of time and finding some sort of connector or external enclosure for my hard drive.

I have been able to recovery everything. Woo!

You gave us (me) quite a scare there, good to know there was no serious damage.

I am going to *try* to make the server work on my backup desktop. It's quite old now, so I'm not sure how well it will handle serious work. Then I'll be working more on Neu Age, or waiting until I get a new laptop. I have faith in my old box, though!

I am also glad to hear of the non loss :)

My desktop barely functions. I have tried everything possible to repair my laptop, but the NVidia graphics card is an inherently defective chip, so I can not pay for a repair when it's going to die again. I am battling with whoever I can to get a free new laptop or a refund, but as it is I can barely check my e-mail, let alone run servers and develop things I need to work on.

In the mean time, several ideas have found there way around my head and are going to come out quite nicely. Our artist, Eric, has come up with some very nice sketches for the first three playable races. Many stalls, but Neu Age will come through!
